It is possible to mistake a material for something it is not. But our service
is unmistakable.

As the name suggests: positive material identification is used for a clear identification and differentiation of materials. We mainly apply this method in material testing upon arrival, on building sites or for acceptance testing for manufacturers. Positive Material Identification tests can be carried out by using mobile optical emission spectrometry, eddy current testing or xray fluorescence analysis.

Xray fluorescence analysis:

For the analysis and identification of alloys we use a portable xray fluorescence analyser, model: XMET 3000 TX+. The device is based on the energy dispersive xray fluorescence technology using xray tubes.

The xray fluorescence analyser is a nondestructive device and can also measure chippings, wires as well as small objects and highly difficult geometries. This method is not suitable to determine the carbon content.

Optical Emission Spectrometry:

OES is based on the principle that a light spectrum, emitted through a spark test with optical impulses, is decomposed to single spectral components and therefore allows the identification of chemical concentrations.

In contrast to xray fluorescence analyses this method can also determine the approximate carbon content of a material. In the past, OES could only be carried out stationary, mobile operation required elaborate expenditure. Our new mobile analysis device (Model: Spectro iSORT) enables testing on scaffoldings or ladders. The high accuracy of the mobile devices guarantees reliable material identifications. Mixups ... impossible.
